Trigger Hippy Announces Return

Trigger Hippy will end a lengthy hiatus and return to the stage for the first time in four years this summer. The new lineup features founding members drummer Steve Gorman of Black Crowes fame and bassist Nick Govrik along with newcomers guitarist/vocalist Ed Jurdi and singer Amber Woodhouse.

Up first for the quartet is a residency at The Basement in Nashville on July 13, July 20, August 4 and August 18. Gorman confirmed the follow-up to the band’s self-titled 2014 debut studio album is due in October. The longtime Black Crowes drummer added Trigger Hippy will perform “shows everywhere else soon.” On September 24, Steve Gorman will release a new memoir entitled Hard To Handle: The Life & Death Of The Black Crowes.

Trigger Hippy formed in 2009 with Audley Freed, Joan Osborne, Jackie Greene, Will Kimbrough and Jimmy Herring among past members. Tickets for the quartet’s Nashville residency go on sale this Friday, June 21 at 10 a.m. CT via the venue’s website.
